RCMP say a " suspicious occurrence" that drew a large police presence in Dawson Creek was a shooting, and that they believe a man is missing from the area.

Mounties in Dawson Creek responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 97 around 6 p.m. and found a man in a vehicle suffering from injuries 'inconsistent' with a crash.
