The Elgin Fire Department received a call at 5 p.m. that a woman was injured in an ATV accident near the Pollett River area.

The province announced an additional $680M on Wednesday, on top of $315M announced in 2019 to improve broadband internet and cellular service.

Residents in rural Saskatchewan are raising safety concerns about having to drive hours without cell service, after being snubbed in SaskTel's latest plan to build 74 cell towers in rural parts of the province.

Residents of Spiritwood, Sask., have lost internet, phone and cell service after a fire at a SaskTel building on Sunday the RCMP say.

An emergency alert has been dropped in Alberta, after Telus mobility customers were warned earlier in the day that they were unable to call 911 from anywhere in the province. 

Multiple customers say they have lost phone service, with even police agencies saying their non-emergency lines are experiencing limited service.

All three victims were found in areas where cellphone service is virtually non-existent, with travellers unable to call for help if they encounter trouble.

A Bell MTS customer living north of Dauphin is frustrated with the company's plans to switch to LTE service in her area at the end of the month.

The biggest impact on the town will be improved safety, according to Port Clements mayor Doug Daugert.

SaskTel has now launched small cell site solutions in 31 communities and are on track to reach 50 communities by the end of March 2019.
