The Burnaby School District would not go on camera, but instead released a statement calling the question "deeply concerning,", adding that it's taking steps to address the harm.

The teacher on call, Michael John Rhodes, was teaching a Grade 6/7 class in the Burnaby school district last January when the incident occurred.
