Police say the suspect attempted to evade police and fled in a vehicle and then on foot before he was arrested at gunpoint.

Bryant Wood has served 30 years as a police officer, 29 of them in the Municipality of Port Hope, the last eight as police chief. He's announced his intention to retire in 2023.
