An off-duty paramedic performed first aid on the injured teen and called 911, Ottawa paramedics said.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Greenbank Road and Highbury Park Drive around 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Ottawa police.

Joshua Eardley, 17, was identified by friends and in an obituary published Thursday, family and friends say "Josh was charming and kind with a gentle soul who had a passion and love for his family and friends and all things outdoors."
