About $10,000 worth of hay bales that were being donated to the Alberta SPCA has been stolen from a provincial park northwest of Edmonton.

"The farmer said it wouldn't have been worth the gas to try and harvest what grew in his area. So he didn't make any bales."

The lack of feed isn't just an issue in one Canadian province. The Government of Canada drought map shows British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are all experiencing significant drought conditions.
