It was almost seven years ago that a devastating wind storm leveled large swaths of its lush forest.

Today, volunteers planted 125 native deciduous and coniferous trees to ensure there will be a healthy variety trees for generations to come.

Vancouver Park Board says the goal is to plant 150,000 trees across the city by 2020.
