Worker dead after suspected fall at Tsuut’ina First Nation dealership construction site

A 43-year-old worker died June 20 at the construction site of the new Big 4 Motors dealership on the Tsuut'ina First Nation.

A 43-year-old man is dead following a suspected jobsite fall on the property of a yet to be opened vehicle dealership just west of Calgary city limits.

EMS officials confirm a paramedic crew was called to a location on Weaselhead Road, just south of Grey Eagle Drive, on the Tsuut’ina First Nation around 8 a.m. Tuesday for reports a worker had suffered a fall.

Paramedics located a man in serious, potentially life-threatening condition and attempted to resuscitate him. The man was pronounced dead on scene.

The site is the future home of the new Big 4 Motors dealership.

Rob Coleman, Big 4 Motors general manager, called the incident “very sad and tragic.”

“We offer our deepest condolences to the friends and family on their loss,” said Coleman in a statement to Global News.  “We are co-operating with the investigators as they work to determine the cause.”

According to the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service, Occupational Health and Safety Alberta is investigating the incident.

The dealership is scheduled to open this fall.
