Driver sent to hospital early Monday after serious crash on Linc in Hamilton

A driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash early Monday on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton, Ont.

Police say two vehicles came together in the eastbound lanes of the Linc around 1:30 a.m. between Upper James and Upper Wentworth Streets.

The incident closed lanes in both directions on the Linc for hours due to road repairs before reopening just after noon.

Investigators say a 2023 Mercedes YCG, driven by a 16-year-old G2 driver, collided with an eastbound 2022 Lexus IS, driven by a 24-year-old Hamilton man.

After coming together, the Mercedes flipped onto its roof and eventually came to rest about 150 metres from the Lexus.

The driver of the Lexus suffered life-threatening injuries, according to paramedics.

The Mercedes driver was also sent to hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives are seeking witnesses and security camera footage.
