SASKATOON – The 101st Grey Cup is just days away and it’s not just Regina cashing in on the craze.

Sunday will be Dave Ash’s 39th consecutive Grey Cup and the president of Dash Tours has been fielding calls almost non-stop since the Riders knocked off the Stamps.

“The busiest time period for any Grey Cup is from the moment teams are confirmed,” said Ash.

“Sunday night at six until Monday night at six we sold over 100 packages in that 24-hour period.”

While Regina hotel accommodations are slim to none right now, places around the Queen City are filling up.

Fans from out-of-province are even thinking about staying in Saskatoon.

“We have had a few calls from people who are staying in Saskatoon and attending the Grey Cup in Regina on Sunday and there mostly concerned about transportation,” said Alexandra Stang from Tourism Saskatoon.

“A lot of people don’t want to drive themselves because they want to party with everyone.”

If people staying in Saskatoon are still looking for ways to get to the big game, they might be limited.

“We have one of our limo’s going down Thursday night for the Grey Cup party, we have a limo going down Saturday all day and coming back and taking another group down Sunday morning,” said Eric Beck, manager/chauffeur at Living Skies Limousine .

If people want to avoid the frenzy of the Queen City altogether, there are plenty of Grey Cup parties being organized at various establishments right in Saskatoon.
