We did it!

Well CONGRATULATIONS to Team Global!  We were all successful in crossing our respective finish lines this past weekend.  As far as my 10K run was concerned, the weather was perfect, the entire course was lined with folks cheering us on, and I set a personal best time – 57 minutes!  I have to admit that it was harder than I thought it would be.  My body isn’t used to running first thing in the morning and the course was far more hill-y than then route I ran during my training but other than that it was a thrill to be a part of such an exciting and positive event.  I was so happy that my family was there the entire time to support me and that my boyfriend ran alongside me (almost) every step of the way.  Was I tired afterward?  Ohhh yeah. Let’s just say I was glad the Blue Nose took place on a long weekend, giving me some extra time to recover. But later that day I was able to muster up enough energy to treat myself to a lovely sunday road trip with friends to Mahone Bay and partake in the Mussel & Wine festival… mmmm.

Overall, running in the Blue Nose was a great experience.  It helped me set a goal for myself; to reach a new level of physical activity and achieve it.  Maybe next year I’ll set a new goal – 1/2 Marathon!
