The euphoria of the run is over but the memories and appreciation linger still.
My Global team mates Andrea, Patricia, & Lauren have all shown what it takes to prepare, to compete, and to inspire. I have a new appreciation for them for the Blue Nose organizers and volunteers who made the 5th running such a huge success.
Watching Saturday’s Youth run in the rain was an inspiration and a joy. I arrived early Sunday morning to watch my fellow competitors arrive and was pleasantly surprised to see how many I knew – friends and neighbours all with the same goal to compete and complete (their event) however they could. Standing at the finish line with our Global camera crew/s gave another perspective still – the pain, the exhaustion, the fatigue, (and for me near collapse), but mostly the delight and elation at having finished the Blue Nose.
All the training leading up to the event and now what? My son and I jumped on our mountain bikes and made short work of yesterday mornings rain…
Can’t wait ‘till next year!
