‘To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first.’
Shakespeare
Well, here I am. I’ve picked up the running kits – for my son Regan soon to run in his 3rd Blue Nose Marathon – and mine with my timing chip. I’ve met the volunteers and Myles the mascot. The time for excuses will soon be past and the time for action is almost upon us. The training and anticipation all comes down to this weekend.
I’m left thinking of Evan Esar who wrote ‘Success is the good fortune that comes from aspiration, desperation, perspiration and inspiration’.
The run should be fun and is bound to be humbling. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Here’s to success for us all!
Cheers
Scott
