CALGARY- RCMP have arrested a man who was caught excessively speeding on a motorcycle, before trying to run away from officers on foot.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Mounties in Airdrie saw the man travelling northbound on Highway 2 near Airdrie. He was going between 187 and 200 km/h, and officers weren’t able to catch up with him until the driver got caught in traffic near the Olds overpass.
At that point, the man pulled over, jumped off the bike and tried to run away. Officers managed to take him into custody a short time later.
The man, a 24-year-old from Calgary, is now being held by Airdrie RCMP. Charges are pending.
