Woman reported missing after arriving in Victoria has been found, family confirms

A 55-year-old woman recently reported missing on Vancouver Island has been found safe, her daughter confirmed late on Tuesday afternoon.

Sidney-North Saanich RCMP called for public assistance locating the woman on Monday after she arrived at Victoria International Airport earlier this month, was seen taking a bus the following day, and had not been heard from in the week that followed.

Her family had told police it is uncommon for her to be out of contact with them for so long, but expressed relief and joy in an Instagram post when she was located on April 25.
