Rockets rise up the national rankings

KELOWNA — After a brief stint atop the WHL standings this past weekend, the Kelowna Rockets have shot up the CHL top 10 rankings.

Kelowna sits in third overall, behind the top ranked Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL) and second place Guelph Storm (OHL).

The Rockets are one of three WHL teams making the national top 10. The Portland Winterhawks nabbed sixth and Medicine Hat Tigers ninth.

Kelowna, with a 14-2-0-2 record, faces off against the Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday, taking on Canucks first round draft pick, Hunter Shinkaruk.
