The world’s most popular video website YouTube has gone widescreen.
Get breaking National news
YouTube is now displaying videos in a widescreen
aspect radio, similar to how you would watch a DVD on a new flat panel TV.
The picture quality looks better and the videos don’t appear as
“squished,” in short, it’s a big improvement especially if you have a large computer monitor.
It’s another move by YouTube into the living rooms of the nation…
especially with products like AppleTV, Playstation 3 and the TiVo PVR which
can send online video to conventional televisions.
Major movie studios are also said to be negotiating with YouTube to feature
full-length movies for rental on the website, something AppleTV is already
doing.
