1 dead, 2 injured after crash in Toronto’s northeast end

Toronto police say one person is dead and two others have been injured following a crash in the city’s north east end.

Emergency crews were called to Steeles Avenue East and Sewells Road at around 3:05 a.m. Wednesday for reports of a collision.

Police said a 2017 black Jaguar F-Pace was headed westbound on Steeles Avenue East, past Sewells Road.

“The driver of the Jaguar lost control of the vehicle and struck the ditch causing the vehicle to roll several times,” police said in a news release.

Officers said a 19-year-old man was ejected from inside the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to police, two others — a 19-year-old and 20-year-old also in the vehicle — were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police said Steeles Avenue was closed in both directions from Ninth Line to Reesor Road.
