Madonna’s Hard Candy Fitness set to open in Toronto

TORONTO — Fitness fanatics in Toronto can soon workout like a pop star.

Madonna’s Hard Candy Fitness opens its doors Oct. 31 inside the Shops at Aura on Yonge Street at Gerrard Street.

It is the second North American branch of the growing chain, after Mexico City, and the largest, at 42,000 square-feet.

Hard Candy Fitness already has locations in Rome, Sydney, Santiago, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Berlin.

The venture — named after Madonna’s 2008 album — is a partnership between the 55-year-old superstar, her manager Guy Oseary and New Evolution Ventures.

Its signature Addicted to Sweat workouts were developed with Madonna’s personal trainer Nicole Winhoffer.

Madonna recently showed up at the opening of a Hard Candy Fitness in Berlin, where she led an Addicted to Sweat class.

A publicist for the gym said Madonna is likely to pay a visit to her latest location.

In addition to gym amenities, Toronto’s Hard Candy Fitness boasts saunas, steam rooms, a custom juice bar and rooftop terrace.
