Austin Mahone cancels tour due to illness

TORONTO — First the Jonas Brothers, now Austin Mahone.

The teen pop star has scrapped his tour after falling ill.

“Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out,” his mother Michele tweeted late Thursday. “We feel very bad but we have no choice but to POSTPONE the tour for now. Thank you for your prayers.”

The singer has 4.4 million Twitter followers.

Mahone, 17, posted a photo on Instagram showing him in a hospital gown and holding an IV drip. “I’ve never felt so bad,” he wrote.

Mahone was set to kick off the MTV Artist to Watch Tour on Oct. 17 in Miami and wrap it up Oct. 30 in Michigan.

There were no Canadian dates scheduled.
