Two attempted smash and grabs at Calgary businesses

CALGARY – Police are investigating two more attempted smash and grab robberies in the city.

Officers were called to a business on the 2600 block of Centre Street North, late Wednesday night.

A security camera caught a white pick-up truck trying to break in to the building by ramming into the back door.

The would-be robbers were unable to get inside the store.

Hours later, suspects used a large pick-up truck to ram the front of a liquor store in Cranston.

The sound of the crash woke up a witness who spotted a white truck at the scene around 2 a.m.

Again, the would-be thieves were unable to break into the store.

It’s not known if the two incidents are related.
