HALIFAX – A Halifax cemetery that serves as the final resting place for 121 Titanic victims is getting some upgrades.
The Halifax Regional Municipality has issued tenders for the gravestones at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery to be cleaned, the letters whitened and a pathway to be repaved.

There are 150 Titanic victims buried in three Halifax cemeteries.
Some 1,500 passengers and crew members died on April 15, 1912, when the Titanic struck an iceberg and went down in the North Atlantic, south of the Grand Banks.

There were just over 700 survivors.
The Titanic sank on its maiden voyage from Southampton in England to New York.
