A popular airline known for flying travellers to sunny destinations is expanding.
Sunwing Airlines is expanding their Winnipeg operation by adding a new seasonal crew at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.
More travellers flying to sunny destinations prompted the expansion. The addition means 60 new jobs will be created.

The airline offers direct flights to Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mexico. Beginning in January 2014, the airline will also offer a weekly flight to Grand Bahama.
“We are very committed to the ongoing development of our Winnipeg program,” Sunwing president Mark Williams said in a press release. “Due to the overwhelming success Sunwing has experienced in the Winnipeg market, we have decided to further expand our Winnipeg operations and are very excited about the upcoming season.”
“When airlines do well in our market it’s a win-win situation,” said Barry Rempel, president and CEO of the Winnipeg Airports Authority, in a press release. “We are pleased to work with quality carriers in enhancing local employment and providing increased non-stop destinations for our region.”
