Oakville man charged after knives, stun guns intercepted at border

OAKVILLE, Ont. – An Oakville, Ont., man is facing several weapons charges following an investigation by Halton Region police and the Canada Border Services Agency.

Members of the Halton police drug, gun and gang unit arrested a man Tuesday after a package destined for an Oakville residence was intercepted at the Canada-U.S. border.

Police say four stun guns were seized, along with two pepper spray canisters, three sets of brass knuckles and six knives, including switchblade and dagger-type knives.

Maximilian Massiah, 21, is charged with six counts of importing a prohibited weapon knowing it is unauthorized and six counts of unauthorized importing of a prohibited weapon.

He has been released from custody but is to appear in court Nov. 19.
