Motorcyclist killed in Toronto crash: police

A 38-year-old motorcycle rider has died after a crash in Toronto Monday.

Investigators said it was around 6:15 p.m. when a man was riding a red Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Sheppard Avenue West when a 42-year-old man driving a black Audi eastbound on Sheppard made a left hand turn to go north on Sentinel Road.

That’s when the Audi and the Kawasaki collided in the intersection, police said.

Police initially said the injuries appeared serious before issuing an update to confirm the rider of the motorcycle had been pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle involved remained on scene, police said.

Police said officers were still at the scene investigating the incident and advised that road closures and delays should be expected.
