CALGARY – A group of taxi drivers walked off the job at the Calgary International Airport on Monday, in support of coworkers they say were wronged.
About 100 drivers with Associated Cab, which currently holds an exclusive contract with the airport, are refusing to pick up passengers in protest over the firing of two workers last week.
It’s the third such walkout by Associated Cab drivers since August.
Rupinder Gill, the head of the Calgary Cab Drivers Society, was let go along with another driver after a wildcat strike at the airport last Wednesday.

Gil had been critical of how the company is handling its contract with the airport.
There are allegations Gil assaulted the president of Associated Cab, however, that information has not yet been confirmed by Global News.
The drivers say they will continue to strike for as long as it takes for Gill to be rehired by Associated, but the company’s president says that won’t happen.
