TORONTO — The made-in-Canada spy series Covert Affairs has been renewed for a fifth season.
“No other series on television travels the globe to tell a story like Covert Affairs,” said Chris McCumber, president of USA Network, in a statement.
The show, starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham, airs in Canada on Showcase.
Production of the fourth season of Covert Affairs recently wrapped up in Toronto.
The new season will consist of 16 episodes.
The renewal is good news for the Toronto film and television production industry, which recently learned of the cancellation of Lucky 7 and Copper.
In made-in-Vancouver series The Killing and King & Maxwell were also recently cancelled.
