Durham Regional Police are investigating after officers found a man with evidence of gunshot wounds following a single-vehicle collision in Pickering.
Police said officers were called to the Taunton Road area, west of Brock Road at around noon for a one car collision involving a grey four-door Honda.
Investigators said the driver inside the vehicle was pronounced dead on scene and had gunshot wounds.
The victims identity will not be released until a post-mortem examination is conducted.

The homicide unit and collision unit are investigating the death. Police are asking anyone with dashcam or security video to contact police.
Police said the area will be “shut down for several hours.”
