CALGARY- Despite a number of diploma exams not being written due to the June flood, students who did write the tests got higher marks than their counterparts around the province.
On Wednesday, both the public and Catholic school boards released the results of the diploma exams and provincial exams, which were written by those in Grade 3, 6, 9 and 12.
“Alberta continues to be one of the highest achieving jurisdictions in the world,” says Naomi Johnson, chief superintendent of schools, said in a statement. “Our objective is to exceed provincial targets and we have done so in almost every subject and grade level. For another straight year, our student results are outstanding.”
