CALGARY – Two police officers escaped injury after their cruiser was struck by a pickup truck on Thursday night.

It happened in McKenzie town around 11:30 p.m.

The officers were investigating a silver Ford F350 they saw on the side of the road. When they ran its plate, they found the vehicle was reported stolen.

However, the truck sped away as police approached it, hitting their cruiser in the process.

Police didn’t pursue the truck, which was last seen on Highway 22X heading East out of Calgary.

Investigators say a man and woman were in the truck at the time, and the vehicle would have damage to its front.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
