Amid all the wineries and artisanal food producers that Vancouver Island is famous for, a Cowichan business is embarking on a business route few in the area take.
Two hundred tea plants are now growing at a farm just outside of Duncan.
Using the region’s rainfall and summer heat to its advantage, the plants on the farm have established roots in the soil.
But it will still take a couple of years before they are fully mature.
The tea farm, which is open to the public, is the only one of its kind in Canada.
