South Korea says unidentified person crossed armed border into North Korea
South Korea's military said Sunday that an unidentified person had crossed the fortified border into North Korea. The person was spotted on surveillance but the military were unable to locate them when troops were sent to capture them Saturday night. It was unclear if this was a rare case of a South Korean hoping to deflect to the North, or if it could be a North Korean returning after briefly entering South Korean territory for an unknown reason – Jan 2, 2022

South Korea‘s ruling party leader, Song Young-gil, was hospitalized on Monday after being attacked by a stranger with an unknown object while campaigning in Seoul for the party’s presidential candidate, Lee Jae-myung, the Yonhap news agency reported.
