It’s a new chapter at libraries across the province.

At the end of this year there will be one single card that will work in all public libraries in Saskatchewan. Book borrowers can get books from any of the province’s 306 libraries.

Regina Public Library went live with the new system in February. Saskatoon Public Library as well as Palliser and Southeast Regional Libraries recently switched over. So far the response seems to be positive. All the other libraries will be moved over within the next few months.

Regina loaned 1,700 items to Saskatoon in the first month of operation. That is a large increase from the 100 items going from Regina to Saskatoon all of last year.
