The facility has now been operating for 10 years.

Insite has seen more than 2 million visits without a single death.

Since opening in 2003, it has been a safe place for people to inject drugs and it’s still the only facility of its kind on the continent.

Supporters are marking the anniversary this morning with a pancake breakfast on East Hastings near Columbia St.

Insite has faced pressure from the federal government to shut down, but the Supreme Court of Canada unanimously sided with the British Columbia government in their fight to keep Insite open.

Organizers at Insite say it’s time to celebrate a decade of success.
