SASKATOON – A fire sent smoke billowing into the sky on Taylor Street on Thursday afternoon.
The blaze began at about 1:00 p.m. Fire and protective services members say they received a report that a shed fire was spreading to a nearby fence and home.
After crews arrived, the fire then spread to a second house in the area.

The fire department says the main damage is to the exterior of the buildings, but the extent of the damage is unknown at this time.
Assistant Chief Bill Coffin, with Saskatoon’s Fire and Protective Services, says nobody was harmed in the blaze.
“We’ve got the one main house, nobody around, people on either side. There was one person in each house but they all got out safely, and their animals got out, everything’s fine,” he explained.
“Crews were on very quickly, got the main part of the fire down. It’s always–trying to chase the fire afterwards–trying to make sure it doesn’t extend into the house anywhere.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
