A man known to police is recovering from serious injuries after he was shot outside a Coquitlam pub Friday night in what RCMP say appears to be another targeted shooting. Emad Agahi reports – Jan 15, 2022

One man is recovering in hospital after being seriously injured in a shooting in the parking lot of Coquitlam’s John B Neighborhood pub on Austin Avenue Friday night.

RCMP said Saturday the victim is now in stable condition after surgery and expected to make a full recovery.

Two bystanders were also taken to hospital and treated for minor wounds caused by debris from the shooting.

Mounties responded to a report of shots fired at the parking lot just before 9:30 pm Friday evening, and found the victim, a man in his 20’s, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Witnesses tell Global News several shots were heard as dozens of people rushed into the pub to take cover.

The victim is known to police and the incident is believed to be targeted.

There is no word on if it is related to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Police are still trying to find the suspect.

The Coquitlam RCMP Major Crime Unit is looking for witnesses and commercial or residential video footage or dashcam footage.
