BBC America pulls the plug on ‘Copper’

TORONTO — The made-in-Canada period drama Copper has been cancelled after two seasons.

BBC America pulled the plug on the series, which was filmed in Toronto and starred Tom Weston-Jones and Kevin Ryan.

In Canada, Copper airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on Showcase. Nine episodes remain in the sophomore season.

The show, set in 1860s New York City, was a co-production of Shaw Media (parent company of Global News) and Cineflix Studios.

Stars like Alfre Woodard, Billy Baldwin and Ottawa-born Donal Logue appear in the second season of Copper.
