1 person in custody after shooting that injured teenager in Scarborough

One person is in custody after a shooting that injured a teenager in Scarborough, Toronto police say.

In a series of tweets Wednesday afternoon, Toronto police said officers received reports of gunshots and a person laying on the ground at Morningside Avenue and Sewells Road.

Officers said a male teenager was located with a gunshot wound. He was transported by paramedics to hospital via an emergency run in non-life threatening condition.

Police said he is in “stable condition.”

Investigators later said the teenager was the victim of a home invasion type of robbery and that he had collapsed on the street.

One suspect was arrested but officers are still looking for a second. A suspect description for the second person was not released.

According to officers, a firearm has been recovered.

Officers said the investigation is ongoing.
