Airdrie city council has voted to amend its public behavior bylaw to include verbal or physical abuse, threats, teasing and name calling, whether its face-to-face or online.

Offenders face a $500 fine for the first offence. The maximum fine increases to $1,000 for a second offence.

Murphy says she would like to expand the bylaw to Calgary.

Mayor Nenshi’s office says it would be happy to meet with her if she requests a meeting.
