Woman, 27, dies in hospital after being struck in Dartmouth crosswalk, driver ticketed

A 27-year-old woman has died in hospital after she was hit in a crosswalk in Dartmouth Wednesday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say they responded to a report of a pedestrian who was struck by someone driving a vehicle in the 300 block of Pleasant Street around 8:15 a.m.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she later died.

The driver, a 41-year-old woman, was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
