Provincial police in Oxford county are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Sunday morning in Ingersoll, Ont.
Few details are known, but in an update on Tuesday, police said the pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was struck around 11 a.m. at the railway tracks along Thames Street between St. Andrew and Victoria streets and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased has been identified only as a 78-year-old individual.

OPP said they, Canadian National Rail police, and the Office of the Chief Coroner were continuing to investigate.
