Man charged with 1st-degree murder after woman found with trauma to her body in Toronto

Toronto police say a man has been charged with first-degree murder after a woman was found with trauma to her body and later died of her injuries.

Police said they were called to a residence near Ellesmere and Meadowvale roads in Scarborough at around 3:10 a.m. Friday.

Investigators said the woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police have since identified her as 36-year-old Toronto resident Nabila Aminzadah. Her death marks Toronto’s 75th homicide of 2021.

A man was arrested at the scene, police said.

Twenty-four-year-old Toronto resident Carland Walker has since been charged with first-degree murder.
