Quebec provincial police (SQ) have cancelled an Amber Alert for two missing toddlers from Sutton shortly after it was issued on Thursday afternoon.

In a news release sent just after 1;30 p.m., police said the pair were found safe and sound in New Brunswick.

Police had said the toddlers, aged three and one, were allegedly abducted on Wednesday.

Sutton is located about 110 kilometres southeast of Montreal.

Police said they had been looking for a 33-year-old woman in connection with the children’s disappearance.

The SQ said the investigation is ongoing and more details will follow.
