Dan McLean is projected to win the councillor seat in Ward 13, defeating longtime incumbent Diane Colley-Urquhart.
Colley-Urquhart was seeking her seventh term on council representing the southwestern ward, but ended up placing third in the three-way race.

Diane Colley-Urquhart
Before being elected to city council in 2000, Colley-Urquhart had a career in nursing, a vocation on which she continues to keep updated.
Colley-Urquhart’s re-election campaign focuses on a trio of areas: fiscal management, safety and community health.

Dan McLean
An independent business owner in golf and utility vehicle rentals, McLean is associated with Craig Chandler’s Take Back City Hall group.

Jay Unsworth
With training in sustainability and non-profit management, Unsworth’s professional experience centres around the education sector. His volunteer experience includes as a youth soccer coach and a local film festival.
Unsworth hopes to revitalize downtown, improve affordable housing, be fiscally responsible, build out a transportation network that better serves the city, and take action on climate change
In total, 27 people are running for mayor and there are 111 candidates for city council. Eighteen people are running to become Calgary Catholic School Board trustees, while 38 people are running to become Calgary Board of Education trustees.
Election day is Monday, Oct. 18.
