An 18-year-old Hamilton man is dead following an afternoon shooting in the city centre on Friday.
Hamilton police say they arrived around 4:30 p.m. to a scene on Cannon Street between Barnesdale Avenue North and Lottridge Street.
Investigators say the victim was walking on the street when he was approached by a dark-coloured four-door sedan and hit by bullets fired by occupants in the car.
The victim was later transported to hospital by paramedics where he was pronounced deceased.

Police say they have no suspects at present, and an investigation is expected to continue though much of Saturday.
Detectives have revealed the deceased as Yua Blut Kaw, 18, from Hamilton.
The death marks the city’s 15th homicide of 2021.
