PENTICTON — Some of the NHL’s top prospects are in Penticton for the next four days. The 2013 Young Stars Classic is underway from Thursday to Monday, with notable draft picks from the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, San Jose Sharks and Winnipeg Jets. It’s the players chance to impress the scouts and coaches, in hopes of making it to the NHL.

Vancouver fans will have their eye on Canucks top pick, Bo Horvat, who was picked up 9th overall in the 2013 NHL draft. The Canucks traded Corey Schneider to draft Horvat, but the current London Knights centre iceman says he isn’t phased about being part of such a big move.

“I don’t feel any pressure. I just gotta go out there, play my game and do what I can out there. I just think to put everything that happened during the draft and all of the trade and stuff behind me and go forward from there – play my game and show them what I can do” says Horvat.

“We don’t have a lot of time to show what we’ve got, every game is very important, every shift, every play you make is very important. This tournament and every game that I play is very important.”
