The Ex set to close for 2013

TORONTO- Today is the last day of the year to visit the Canadian National Exhibition.

This year’s edition of the Ex faced public scrutiny with several food stands being shut down and hundreds getting sick after consuming the Cronut burger, the most publicized food item going into the exhibition.

On Friday, an estimated $1 million dollars worth of counterfeit goods were seized from CNE ground by Toronto police.  The items seized consisted mainly of counterfeit clothing and accessories.

Highlighting the list of events today is another rendition of the highly popular air show.

The show features the Canadian Forces along with several other flight teams soaring in close proximity over Lake Ontario.

Other attractions include the newly added zipline and an acrobatics show created by Cirque du Soleil veteran, Daniel Cola.

Gates close Monday night at 5 p.m. but grounds will remain open until 10 p.m..
