SASKATOON – More than 900 cars, trucks, and motorcycles were featured at the 31st annual Rock 102 Show & Shine in Saskatoon.
Even though Denis Hoppe is a happily-married man, nearly half a century ago he fell hard for a curvy beauty: a 1956 four-door, hard-top, Ford Fairlane.
The farmer, who lives northwest of Biggar, says he dreamed about buying this car for over 40 years.

“It’s something to play with when you’re older and you don’t have to work as hard as you did when you were young,” he explained.
The car show is one of the largest in Western Canada with motor enthusiasts flocking into the Bridge City just to be a part of it.
“What you’ve got to admire is the pride and the passion that these guys have after fixing up their cars. Some of these cars, it takes years and years to restore and get them to show room quality,” said Shack, a Rock 102 Morning Show Host.

“It’s a community event obviously for Saskatoon and Saskatchewan, but it’s bigger than that. It’s all over Western Canada, so it’s an awesome event,” he said.
The show spanned more than 10 city blocks in downtown Saskatoon, where more than 40,000 spectators took in the sights.
Show & Shine wraps up Sunday night with tailgate parties at Fuddrucker’s, The Cave, East Side Mario’s, and Beily’s.
