A 36-year-old woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was hit by an SUV in north Edmonton on Tuesday night.
Police said officers with the major collisions unit closed the intersection at 152 Avenue and 127 Street so they could investigate what happened.
According to police, the victim was hit at about 9:10 p.m. by a Jeep Wrangler driven by a 27-year-old woman who was headed north on 127 Street.
“The pedestrian was reportedly running across the roadway while the Wrangler was making a left turn into the Save-On-Foods parking lot,” police said in a news release.
“Investigators believe sun glare may have been a contributing factor to the collision.”
