Maple Leafs to introduce dynamic pricing for regular season tickets: report

TORONTO – If attending a Toronto Maple Leafs home game isn’t expensive enough already, the team plans to hike the price even more this upcoming season with the introduction of a dynamic pricing policy.

According to the Toronto Star, the Leafs will join other NHL teams and professional sports clubs across North America by charging fans more per ticket to watch higher end opponents.

The prices will be divided into several categories such as Super Premium, Premium Plus and Premium.

Seats in the “green” price range could go from $90 to $125 depending on who the team plays.

Just a few months ago, the Leafs jacked up its playoff ticket prices by almost 75 per cent compared to the one’s sold in the regular season.

The Leafs already have the most expensive tickets in the NHL, according to a February report from the U.S.-based Team Marketing Report which lists the average Leafs ticket at $124.69, compared to the Phoenix Coyotes who charge an average ticket price of $40.32.

The Toronto Raptors and the Blue Jays already have a similar policy in place when they play against top-tier teams.
